fashion show pitch

Myself, Kirsty Fruin and Liv Chapman have grouped together in a collaboration for the leeds college of art fashion show.

We got together to discuss concepts and decided that 'old meets new' was an appropriate concept for the overall branding. Seeing as the show is set at Canal Mills, which is an old textile mill, we wanted to juxtapose the old and the new with the fashion designers putting on a show to display their new garments.

In terms of a colour scheme I thought balck & white/greyscale contrasted with a bright spot colouring would not only sit in with the concept but create a sophisticated design aesethetic with a new fresh feel to it. We decided on a lime green as we felt it was gender neutral & would look visually appealing against the greyscale designs.

We wanted to keep it minimal and yet pay attention to the minor details of the designs. We had a meeting and discussed ideas for the deliverables. Seeing as the show is all about the students themselves, I thought it would be a nice idea to have a perforated area of the notebook where professionals can tear off the students contact details. We thought using threading/stitching using the specified spot colour, ontop of some of the designs such as the invites would be quite striking and brings in the context into the designs. In terms of photography we thought we would keep a 'sneak preview' sort of visual so that it attracts peoples attention & pulls people in.
