The areas of graphic design that I intend to focus on include identity, branding and promotion. I aim to explore these areas with design for music, fashion, science and photography as they’re all areas in which I have a strong interest.
Taking this into consideration, I've been looking for briefs that I think not only will be appropriate to my practice, but that I'll enjoy doing and taking them to their full potential.
So far my chosen briefs include:
Electronica
- Create an identity and promote for the coming exhibition Oramics to Electronica. The exhibition is a discovery of the hostory of electronic music from the 1950s until today, held at the Science Museum, South Kensington, London.
Fashion Show
- Looking at branding & promotion for the graduate fashion show & exhibition. Really keen on the idea of this brief as I think it has so much potential both visually and conceptually. This is a collaboration with myself, Kirsty Fruin & Olivia Chapman.
Fashion Yearbook
- Pitching for both the fashion show & the fashion yearbook makes a lot of sense as they would coincide harmoniously in terms of aesthetics. Again, it would be a collaboration with the people above.
Space
- Design a series of informative posters and zines exploring the vast differences in size, temperatures, mass and distance in the universe. This brief will focus on print, stock & finishes. This brief really excites me as, not only does the universe fascinate me, but I think it's the perfect opportunity to explore & perfect the print processes. This is a collaboration with Oliver Cassell.
Myles Harvey
- A photography visual identity brief. mainly photographing at house/electro/garage nights, I must consider the aesthtic of the branding making it appropriate to the audience.
